About Our Puppies
Important Information
There’s no better feeling than when we match one of our precious pets with their caring new owner. It’s why we put so much time, love and effort into making sure these special animals continue to be bred.

•How are puppies priced? What is your Payment Policy?
Puppies are priced based on our expenses breeding them (health testing for the sire and dam, purchase price of sire and dam, microchipping costs, veterinary costs, embark tests for the puppy, etc.) and the time we spend caring for them, socializing them, and training them. Our prices reflect the high quality of puppy we sell.
We believe the old saying "you get what you pay for." At KT Miniature Schnauzers you may pay a higher price to have a wonderful puppy that will be an excellent family pet for years to come. Our puppies are $800.00-$1000.00.
A $200 non-refundable deposit can be placed after the pups are born and we confirm the health of the pup. The remaining balance will be paid when your puppy is picked up either by cash, certified check, or money order. Personal checks are not accepted at puppy pickup.
•Can I visit the puppies/my puppy? When can I take my puppy home?
Those with a puppy on hold are welcome to schedule a weekly visit with their puppies after they are 3 weeks old. We also post regular updates on Facebook about your puppy, as well as text and/or email you with updates. We also welcome visitors who are interested in getting a puppy from a future litter or who just want to come help socialize the puppies. Your puppy will be ready to go once he or she turns eight weeks old.
•Are puppies sold with full or limited registration?
Our puppies are sold with Full AKC registration as pets. Dogs with limited registration can perform in AKC events such as agility, barn hunts etc.. puppies sold with full registration have breeding rights.
We are able to sell puppies with limited registration as you should inquire about that if you are interested. Otherwise you will be charged full price with no refunds for full registration.
•Are your puppies microchipped?
In the past All puppies were microchipped. This was a part of the puppy package included with every puppy. We have discontinued microchipping as a part of the package so we can offer our puppies at a lower price. With prices sky rocketing we understand and still so badly want good homes to be able to afford their forever fur-baby.
•What health testing is done on the dam and sire?
Our standard practice is to test for all the recommended testing by CHIC. This includes DNA testing for Myotonia Congenita, and Mycobacterium Aviam Complex. In addition, all our breeding dogs are DNA tested for a panel of 170 genetic conditions by Embark.
•What colors of puppies will be available?
The AKC Miniature Schnauzer Breed Standard recognizes 3 colors as correct for Miniature Schnauzers. Black, Salt & Pepper, and Black & Silver. Any other color is considered undesirable in a Miniature Schnauzer.
At this time we breed two of these. Black & Silver and Salt & Pepper. At any moment we could possibly have puppies. You can check our “Puppies Available” page or check our Facebook page also for regular updates.
•What comes with my puppy?
Your puppy will be vet checked, dewormed, dew claws removed, tails docked and natural ears, have its first parvo and distemper vaccines, be embark tested and be microchipped. Your new puppy will also have been bathed and groomed before it comes home. You will receive a folder with vet records, crate training and other helpful information and a copy of your puppy contract & guarantee. Your puppy will come with a zipper-seal bag of puppy food, bed, crate and a soft blanket with its mother's scent.
•Screening Puppy Buyers-
Being a responsible breeder isn’t just about raising puppies the right way. Knowing how to screen a potential puppy buyer is an important skill that the best breeders can learn only from experience and research.
Screening a potential puppy buyer is about being sure our puppies end up in a safe and healthy forever home. It’s also about being sure our puppies’ future parents are committed to providing the love, support and attention they deserve.
We may or may not, but totally have the right to ask you questions about your home, yard, your other animals and children. Do you have a pool.
We may ask about a fence or what other solution you use to keep your animals safe.
We may ask for vet references.
We aren’t asking these questions to just be nosey or difficult. We care deeply for these babies and if any of these questions bother you that would not look good anyway.
->PLEASE ADVISE<-
When you do purchase a puppy your contract includes a
-Right of First Refusal Clause-
This requires the buyer to return the puppy to (KT Miniature Schnauzer's) if your circumstances change. We may want the puppy back or to rehouse it with another loving family that can give it responsible care.
Because your puppy was raised in our living room, it comes socialized to the normal sounds in a home like: TV, people talking , the vacuum, etc. Your new puppy will be used to being held by adults, teens, and children. They will experience riding in a car. We will flap door train puppies which makes house breaking much faster and easier. We will begin crate training and house training.
